Our lungs are the vital organs that provide the oxygenation of our entire body. Pulmonary diseases generally develop in air passages  or in the region of the vesicles for the exchange of gases. The most common complaints due to these diseases are shortness of breath, cough, sputum, wheezing and bloody sputum.  One should apply to doctor immediately in the presence of any of these complaints and the lungs should be evaluated in detail.

Outpatient and inpatient services are provided in our department. Especially the Respiratory Functional Test Laboratory is a unit that all the tests can be performed in world standards particularly for the patients that apply with shortness of breath and air passage  functions can be evaluated in detail during rest and exercise.

Diagnosis of air passage diseases such as; Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, bronchitis and the diseases that progress with the deterioration of gas exchange in lungs are done by the measurements performed in this laboratory and the treatment responses of the patients can be followed.

Fiber optique bronchoscope by endoscopic methods which is carried out especially to diagnose lung cancers and to take samples from airways and lung sacs is an interventional method carried out in our department. Diagnosis and treatment follow ups of the airways, lung parenchyma and lymph nodes can be performed by sampling with fiber optique bronchoscope. After the samples obtained from lungs are evaluated, the treatments are planned by consulting the results of patient with clinical branches.
